“Obsession is what it comes down to. It is difficult to think without obsession, and it is impossible to create something without a foundation that is rigorous, incontrovertible, and, in fact, to some degree repetitive. Repetition is the ritual of obsession. Repetition is a way to jumpstart the indecision of beginning. To persevere and to begin over and over again is to continue the obsession with work. Work comes out of work. In order to work you must already be working.”

Richard Serra

This exhibition is created as a collaboration and dialogue between the curator, artist and viewer. The curator invited the artists to reflect on their own vocation/obsession for creativity, on that inner strength, the idea that creates their concepts and fills their works. Artists who work with the technique of drawing in traditional and experimental styles are invited to reflect on this topic. The curator only observes from the outside how the works are created. The viewer will have the opportunity not only to come to exhibition and view artworks, but also to purchase any of them. It is an important condition for a contemporary artist to transfer the work through the exhibition to the buyer. And for the curator, the idea is to bring art out of the power of the meaning of the word “museum” into a space where the viewer can easily reflect on art not only as a wonderful power, but also as what he can acquire and what will subsequently possess.

“Drawing is a great school of legibility and truth. In it you find yourself closest to nature, you master the secrets of geometry, painting does not always allow this, imagination is more involved in it, directing is embodied, a performance is played out. Drawing obliges to some kind of abstraction, the speech here is about what is hidden behind the appearance, face and body, and you so catch the light emanating from them”.

Balthasar Kłossowski de Rola (Balthus)

Artists discover their ‘obsessions’ that make them create. Obsession, which is the inner language, connecting the teller with the viewer. The ideas in artists’ works are very strong and reflective of their inner feelings, which are consonant with many others. Paula tells her story of Eros, where she develops her understanding of sexuality within her space.
