Lariot Collective is pleased to announce “Unplanned Walk” a duo show with Mariett Monfort and Beñat Olaberria from the 3th of May to the 7th in Madrid at Galería Nueva.
“Unplanned Walk” explores the way in which both artists approach their creative process. This refers to the act of making art, which is not hidden but instead remains as one of the most important aspects of the completed piece, so that a part or even the whole of its subject is at the end, the making of the work.
The dialogue between both artists invites us to discover the unknown territories of their minds, like in an unplanned walk.
For Mariett, music is an essential part of her art, managing to transform the shapes that we can find in her work. These organic shapes represent her thoughts and feelings in a subconscious manner, creating with them landscapes of her thoughts within the canvas.
Beñat instead is fascinated with the process of making and the conflict that emerges between his impulsive being and the strong controlling sense of his personal visual logic.

“Unplanned Walk” explora la forma en que ambos artistas abordan su proceso creativo, es decir, al acto de hacer arte, que no se oculta sino que permanece como uno de los aspectos más importantes de la pieza completa, de modo que una parte o incluso la totalidad de su tema es la realización de la obra.
El diálogo entre ambos artistas nos invita a descubrir los territorios desconocidos de sus mentes, como en un paseo no planificado.
Para Mariett la música es parte esencial de su obra, logrando transformarla en las formas que podemos encontrar en sus trabajos. Estas formas orgánicas representan sus pensamientos y sentimientos de manera inconsciente, creando con ellos paisajes de sus pensamientos dentro del lienzo.
Beñat, en cambio, está fascinado con el proceso de creación y el conflicto que surge entre su ser impulsivo y el fuerte sentido controlador de su lógica visual personal.
